Bio: I've always been amazed by the art of photography and found it increasingly fascinating however I took it seriously only a couple of years ago when I bought the trustworthy Nikon D80. I started experimenting with it till I got addicted to the beauty of photography, so I could not resist the temptation of the awesome Canon EOS 5D Mark II. I am here simply to learn so every advice will be highly appreciated.

Port Douglas beach, Queensland, Australia. This is an abandoned uranium mine in about half way between Mount Isa and Cloncurry, in far north west Queensland. The colour of the water is breathtaking and glows in a very spectacular way - hope not from the radiation... This is the part of Waikato river when it just leaves Taupo - it's called Snow White or more specifically - Ice-Blue, Snow-White. I used a couple of Tiffen filters + Tripod + Cable release + Mirror lock-up I just spent the weekend in Brisbane.  It rained almost constantly however I managed to get a few night shots. Please expand and thanks for looking. It was a very windy afternoon and I used a Tifenn ND 1.2 (quite a dark one) to have a longer shutter speed and get the movement of both the clouds and sea. I also used a Tiffen grad ND 0.6 to balance the light. This shot is taken in Te Puia, Rotorua, a volcanic area.  It was a miserable and wet day with a rather boring sky. It kept raining all the time and it was very hard to take a picture so I was quite happy that I managed to compose this picture although I was too worried that my brand new Canon EOS 5D Mark II was getting a real bath... Three .cr2 (raw) images with different focal points blended together in Photoshop CS5.  Shutter speed for each image is around 4 sec. I used two Tiffen filters (ND 1.2 and Grad ND .6) a tripod, mirror lock-up and a cable release. I took a walk around my garden to test the Sigma 150-500mm lens when I found this little lovely fella. It was a very windy day and since I was handholding the camera I pushed the ISO up for a sharp shot. Please expand. This was taken from a NE Queensland beach (Port Douglas) when cyclone Ului was lurking around. This picture is published in the UK's Digital Camera magazine I moved a bit on one side and then had to paitently wait till the peacock turned his head on the left giving me a chance to use the eye as the focus point. Please expand. Thank you. I found this deserted and rusty train today in Mount Isa.  It should be fantastic for low light shots if someone does not mind the ever-lurking deadly snakes. Even in the middle of the day I nearly stood on one however I think it was worth taking a risk. The land of the long white cloud (and magic scenery). This picture was taken while approaching Dunedin from the sea.  Port Douglas beach when cyclone Ului was lurking around. Tiffen ND 1.2 and graduated ND 0.6 filters, tripod, cable release, mirror lock-up.
