Bio: I am a professional photographer and own, with my partner'The Victorian Image' in Whitby North Yorkshire, however that is my day job, and when I am not taking portraits for a living, I am 'cruising' for pictures for my portfolio. I am very rarely seen without a camera of some sort and take 'what I see', patience is not my strongest point when cruising, so any of my landscapes are done on the spur of the moment mostly without the aid of a tripod. Much of my inspiration comes from various photographers such as Elliott Erwitt, Cartier Bresson, Eve Arnold, Ralph Gibson, Martin Parr,Andre Kertesz, Diane Arbus, Don McCullin and many more of the same ilk that I have in my extensive book collection. I have also published a book myself called 'No RyhmeNo Reason' (isbn no.0-9550074-0-2 ) available on Amazon or can be ordered from Waterstones. ...Blackpool. decided to take long exposures of the cars and buses driving along the seafront with the illuminations and the Tower included...once again no tripod so balanced the camera on the floor using the lens cap to elevate the front of the lens....post processing in Siver Efex pro2 ...Steetley Magnasite works ....Hartlepool Steetley nagnasite works...Hartlepool Just about to climb up there...... ...a small fishing cove on the North East Coast, near Staithes.... Ross sands ....Northumberland at Scarborough ...an elephant? a mammoth? or a crocodile?...no just a log ....Pullwood Bay....Cumbria Hartlepool .....The Old man of Coniston....Cumbria ....tea rooms ...York looking south eastwards down lake Windemere... looking for a dynamic and unusual landscape shot,I came across these tree roots which looked great the way the light was catching them....A series of 5 shots..HDR'd in Photomatix..selective contrast levels curves..dodging & burning..conversion to mono in channel mixer..high pass filter to sharpen.. look for the face !!!!! (tree beard) in Cognac..... France ...the arguments rage on over the closure of the Corus plant, at Redcar in the North East.....
