Bio: I'm an amateur travel photographer from bonnie Scotland and have been practicing photography for about 3 years now. At the end of 2006, I decided to embark on a journey around the world, with my fiancé, to visit many countries and document our travels with photographs.

The Grand Place or Grote Markt is the central square of Brussels. The giant building to the left is the Hotel de Ville or Town Hall. Opposite and partially lit up in blue is the museum. The square dates from the 12th century and plays home to many of the country’s best baroque guildhalls, adorned with masses of gold. On the right hand side, you can just see lights that were being shone into the sky that night. Brussels, Belgium. Mt Sefton, draped in 3 glaciers, dominates the view as you walk along the track to the Hooker Valley. To the left, you can see the Mueller Glacier covered in debris and exposing new rock as it slowly melts. Aoraki (Mt Cook) National Park, New Zealand. Melbourne, Australia. Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam. The cloisters at Glasgow University, Scotland. A friend had told me about Lake Matheson and I was eager to get there and see the amazing reflections for myself. It was early spring and still bitterly cold which meant plenty of snowcapped mountains, my favorite vista! My fiancé and I were camping in the back of a 24 year old station wagon and after days of rain and overcast skies, we woke up to the locks and doors of the car frozen shut. I could see the first rays of light hitting the top of Aoraki (Mt Cook) through the frozen windows but couldn’t get out! Finally free of the car, we raced to the viewing platform and set up my camera just in time for the breeze to die down and the reflections to be crystal clear, a truly magic moment. Lake Matheson, Westland Tai Poutini National Park, New Zealand. Melbourne, Australia. Crowds gather and mill about waiting to watch the last rays of sunshine transform this giant temple. Cambodia. Temple of Bayon, Kingdom of Angkor, Siem Reap, Cambodia. This bass relief was highlighted by a shaft of light coming through the crumbled roof which created a shadow all the way around it. Kingdom of Angkor, Siem Reap, Cambodia. On the banks of Lake Tekapo, New Zealand at dusk. Glasgow, Scotland. The Yarra River runs through Melbourne's city centre. On a wet night in Melbourne, hoards of rugby fans were making their way to watch the Ozzies play the All Blacks. I didn't have a clue the match was on and had decided to take some shots of the train station at night. I'd never seen the streets so busy and wanted to try and capture all of the movement. The fans were very eager to get across the road in front of me and not at all bothered by the passing trams. The Vietnamese have an uncanny way of being able to tell when it's about to rain and carry plastic ponchos under the seats of their bikes. As the heavens open, and you're caught unawares, you can do nothing but stand there, soggy and marvel at them all zooming around, undeterred by the torrential downpour. Hanoi, Vietnam. Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne, Australia. Tunnel, Glasgow, Scotland. The medieval Graslei Harbour lies in the centre of Ghent in Belgium. Although some of the original buildings still stand, most are fake and were rebuilt for the 1913 World Fair. I shot this image just after dusk and was going for an eerie feel. Hanoi, Vietnam.
