Did not sight too many of these. Baboons were one species which we were warned against - to keep the window shields up. They are known to jump on cars and snatch away food and other articles that catch their fancy. Beautiful flower after a short drizzle. I was waiting for some bird to land or take off. Was a couple of seconds early in this shot to make the spectacular splash. This baby elephant was one of the inmates at the elephant orphanage run on a small portion of Nairobi National park. This NGO rescues baby elephants orphaned due to many causes; mostly man made - killing of the mother elephant by poachers. This painted stork was trying to break foliage from a tree. I was very close to take this shot. Notice the expression in the stork's eyes. It flew away quickly. Come April, the Cassia Fistula tree blooms. All the leaves fall of off and the tree is mostly covered with the golden flowers. Normally it blooms only once annually. The flower lasts for about two to three weeks. This is a series of 4 shots. Shobana and her troupe performed stories of Krishna at Music Academy, Chennai, India on 23 Aug 2011. The stage lighting and the performance were superlative. This used to be Dutch settlement about 500 years ago. The Dutch has left a few of their marks in the town. Shot recently. This group of We were living in the clouds, at Lonavla, Maharashtra. The scene was marvellous with the green grass, shrubs and the grey clouds rolling by. It is a well known phenomenon that we actually experienced. From nowhere the clouds formed up and it started pouring. We had to take shelter in one of the small cafe's. We enjoyed the sweet frothy one meter tea from there as fas the rain persisited.
