I managed to get an excellent (IMHO) photograph of the cubs this weekend. This one made it to #2 on Flickr Explore! Friday 3rd February, it's had 7,751 views to date so it's my most viewed and faved yet :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/garethbrooks/6813881757/in/photostream/ Lytham St Anne's Life boat ramp/pier as you've never seen it before - Light painted SOOC Light Painting. 1 single exposure, nothing else added apart from a watermark. One of my best shots of Chester Zoo Cheetah Cubs. Check out my full set on Flickr. They're amongst us! I have conclusive proof! :) SOOC x1 7minute(ish) Exposure. Feedback welcomed :) It was very foggy night up Hope Mountain. There was a full moon trying to get through, which added to a spooky looking atmosphere. SOOC - x1 Exposure, no photoshop apart from my watermark. Took my little helper (Vicky my wife) up to Hope Mountain to play with some light painting. It was -5 degrees at the top and everywhere was white with ice. Hence why my wife is wrapped up to her teeth in thick winter clothing, she really didn't want to I had a max shutter speed of 30 seconds (I left my shutter release remote at home!) So I ran around like a lunatic wafting lights, this was my last shot of the night. Ribbons, ribbons everywhere! Ok, so i've cheated on this one! I've combined x2 NEF (Nikon RAW) images on the D90 to create the mixture of colour! But everything else is SOOC! No photoshopping etc Found a cool spot for a bit of light painting! Got the tripod out, focused in the dark and then the heavens opened up!! Only managed to get this one shot of the Centurion Battle Tank before I had to leg it back to the camera before it got drenched. Testing my new Circle Tool for Light Painting. I didn't have my remote with me, so I had a max shutter speed of 30secs to do this. One of the Sumatran Tiger Cubs at Chester Zoo. Not one of my best! But I love it still :) SOOC (Straight Out Of the Camera) Light Painting. Everything you see here was perfomed in 1x exposure. Now proudly sponsored by www.brightlites.co.uk The UK's Premier Stockist of LED Lenser Torches. (A light painters best friend) Here's the shot which had the better 'swirly orb'. It wasn't until I climbed down and looked at the camera when I noticed the lens was fogged up! Still looks cool, but it'd be x10 better if that heavy dew didn't fall. Another light painting using as many tools as I brought with me. The blue squares are something new I'm trying! SOOC - White balance was set to K at around 2600 on the camera, this helps to get rid of the dreadful orange glow in the sky! All performed under one long exposure. The fire orb was done first, I then went back to my kit bag to get out my ribbon tool. Light Painting created in 1 long exposure. No photoshop was used to create this effect, what you see is purely SOOC Light Painting again, this time by holding a flash and firing it at the exact moment to appear that i'm floating above the light painted dome. Light painting using my new home made light scythe. As ever, all done in 1 long exposure and no photoshop.
