I love these classic light standards in Paris. Was just having a bit of fun in b&w. Inside the Cathedral The river in Guelph is not usually this fast flowing. We've had so much rain, its nice to see everyone flurrying about during an overcast but very warm day (myself included). Playing around with my new lens!  So far so good...but the fun continues Still playing with the new lens.  I was really trying to capture the colour of the sky...although I think the exposure is little long - I am pretty happy with the star burst on the lights at right. Hard a hard time getting this one.  Had a well lit soccer pitch about 200m behind me.   Any suggestions? I'm not happy about this in April but we always get one or two more just when we think its over.  I saw this happening and ran out with the tripod to try and snap a few.   Not a spectacular photo but you get the idea.  Here's hoping your front porch doesn't look like mine.  This is the centre post of a circular stair case that was once in Notre Dame Cathedral. Thanks to the Vandalism after the French Revolution, it now sits in the corner of the Cluny museum in Paris. Liked its twisted pattern and B&W seemed to work. Due to work commitments and more rain than anticipated, I didn't have as much time to take photos as I would have liked while in Vancouver. This one taken late evening in downtown. Experimenting with Black and White in Aperature Taken during Tulip Festival in Ottawa.  Couldn't resist the contrast Just playing with low light Hard to resist taking shots in such a beautiful place - lighting was golden. My Hubby...fishing off the dock at the cottage. He was riding on the high of just catching a beautiful large mouth bass. I liked the silhouette and the radiant sky...just had the polarizing filter on. This sight takes my breath away (in real life) every time I see it. Took many versions but this one seemed to capture the picnic atmosphere the best. Couldn't decide if I wanted to put this photo up or not but kept coming back to it.  One from the France archives - taken in 2009 in the Dordogne Region.  I thought the view itself was worth posting! There are a few of these little guys in our backyard. Took this one while BBQ'ing dinner one evening. Worth a smile anyway! This one was a little challenging to get. Propped on a deck post with no tripod and battling a thousand mosquitos. There is a loon here but you'll have to trust me on that! The back side of Canada place in downtown Vancouver. This was used as the broadcasting centre for the Winter Olympics.
