Bio: New to photography and DSLR. Bought first "proper" camera this year (2009)... Nikon D90. Love it! Favoring HDR at the moment but trying to move into long exposure with ND10 filters.

Managed to capture my brother-in-law mid flight as he Early morning shoot out the the East Coast. Got a few nice shots but the sunrise just wasn't up to much. Has to use a mixture of ND10, long exposure and HDR. Would rather had been a "purist" today but had to pull out the "tricks" instead. These wooden groynes scatter Portobello beach outside of Edinburgh. A very nice structure to shoot. This is HDR - 3 exposures at sunrise. Captured this as the sun went down over Cramond in Edinburgh. Another shot from the BMA building in Tavistock Sq in London. Think I prefer this one. Took a trip down to Gullane tonight and had a chance to shoot some sunset work with both HDR and ND10 action. I'm trying to get better at using the ND10 and while these shots are ok they still show I've got a long way to go. Hope you like 'em anyway. HDR shot of St Anthony's Chapel in Edinburgh as the sun was setting. I've shot this before but couldn't resist doing it again. This is actually HDR (appologies to the purists) turned into B&W. This fountain is in Princes St Gardens in Edinburgh - I'm sure the castle in the background is a bit of a give away! Comments and critisisms please. Took this down at the esplanade in Cramond before going running this morning. Bloody tripod broke though. Most upset. Took this at 6am at the end of March just as the sun had come up. It was with the ND10 and much as I don't like the foreground, the water and the sky came out quite nice. This ruin is half way up Arthur's St in Edinburgh and worth a look (and a few snaps) if you get the chance. As always comments and critisism welcome. A wide angle shot of both the Forth Road Bridges with the sky as the main feature. I think I like this because it demonstrates how wide the lens is and how big it can make the sky!!! Took these this morning while I was supposed to be studying. I really should have locked the camera away a few weeks ago but hey, what you gonna do? Was walking through the graveyard of The Parish Church of St Cuthbert and saw this halo of cloud round the castle. Looks quite nice in B&W. Comments and critisisms welcome. Was on a wee outing to East Lothian this morning and ended up on a random country lane underneath the A1. My mate stopped to shoot a field or something but I thought the car needed some attention (and a wash!) HDR. 3 Exposures. Spotted this field at the side of the A199 in East Lothian. Took ages to find somewhere to park and then had to find a way into the field, take the shot, lug all the equipment back to the car... before the Farmer had a mental episode. HDR. 3 exposures. Took this shot for a local competition. Awaiting results but since it's only a small comp I'm hoping they like this kinda gimicky stuff. Anyway, it's a colour select from the canal next to the park where I live.
