Thank you for viewing and commenting on my photos This shot was taken on last week's trip to Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah. When sunset came rather than shoot the postcard Bryce rock formations I decided to walk into the forest, and wait until the sun started to set. And with a window of about 10 minutes was able to capture some low light shots as the lightrays fanned out around the trees. Surprised to find out Bryce and Zion were still getting snow showers! Please expand if time permits...Thanx Originally my intention was to keep this shot in color in order to appreciate the colors of the rock formations. Decided to do a BW conversion thanks to Fraser, who brought up the work of the great Ansel Adams whose photos are an inspiration to me. Thank you for taking the time to view and comment on this photo Just got back from a week of shooting in Utah. Visited Bryce, Zion, Escalante and scenic byway 12 which runs through Utah to Lake Powell. In September of 1996, President Clinton designated this huge national monument, which at 1.7 million acres dominates any map of southern Utah. It is unique in that it is the first monument to be administered by the Bureau of Land Management, rather than the National Park Service. The monument is a geologic sampler, with a huge variety of formations, features, and world-class paleontological sites. The Grand Staircase is a geological formation spanning eons of time and is a territory of multicolored cliffs, plateaus, mesas, buttes, pinnacles, and canyons. It is divided into three distinct sections: the Grand Staircase, the Kaiparowits Plateau, and the Canyons of the Escalante Please expand if time permits..thanks A shot from my trip in mid December 2011. After shooting Yosemite for the last 6 years I can see why Ansel Adams loved this area so much. Thanks for viewing and if time permits commenting Another great day for photographing at Yosemite, taken 2 weeks ago. I used a B+W 10stop filter to capture this photo in mid morning. Thank you for viewing and commenting This photo was taken in Lundy Canyon in the High Sierras. Blink while you are driving down highway 395 and you will miss the exit, which takes you 17 miles into the mountains. I used a B+W 10 stop at a shutter around 15 seconds. Yes another view of Lower Yosemite falls, hope I am not posting to many Yosemite photos. I shoot this place at least 4 times a year and try to get winter and Fall.
