Bio: I'm lucky enough to have the best job in the world, which enables me to try out the latest cameras, learn new photographic techniques and meet inspiring pro photographers. I started my magazine career writing for Digital Photography Made Easy and then Digital camera Buyer. I then went on to edit Photoshop Creative magazine and have finally returned to photography - yey!

Shot in the Algarve, the sea was crystal clear but freezing! This was shot when reveiwing a Fujifilm superzoom Taken in Borneo at a sanctuary. This orphan is 7 months old I took this picture whilst testing the Nikon D3S and an amazing NIKKOR 50mm f1.4 lens, which was amazing to use! I met these two kids in a small town in Mexico. They followed us everywhere! I liked the aerial view of these two fisherman taking an afternoon nap A sleepy dog at the foot of some great cobbled steps Taken on a training day using the rather gorgeous Leica M9. Trying to get used to focusing manual was a bit tricky - especially when trying to shoot at speed, but I totally feel in love with this camera. It really makes you go back to basics and think about what you're shooting and how you want it to look. Summer's evening over the ferry at sandbanks Classic car driving along the waterfront of havana, Cuba On the advice of Debbi Ive converted this image to B&W - let me know which you prefer - and whether you think the crop works okay on this one - thanks! These locals are returning from a day working down at the shoreline on Cancun Beach, Mexico I came across this baby in a market in Portugal - her parents were working on the stall whilst she was sound asleep amidst the clothes. A smile and gesture to the parents and they allowed me to take this shot. This was taken onto a trip to a Mexican village. This little boy quickly became our very own tour guide and was keen to introduce us to his pet turtle Taken on a street in Portugal. I love the contrast of the old pebbled steps with the modern graffiti Taken in Whitehaven, Cumbria where many of my relatives worked over the generations Taken in Mexico. Couldn't resist the amazing colours. Taken from a moving car so had to ramp up the ISO quite high.
