A recent snow and my obsession with the Dragon Run.... It was most excellent to be there... alone with ice, snow, sunshine, beaver,... so pristine. Please enjoy expanded. Winter in Virginia, deepest snows in the last 14 years. Enjoy expanded and thank you for looking. '55 Chevy Pickup truck abandoned in a hay field near Gloucester, VA. My Dad had one when I was young: I learned how to drive behind the wheel of one... stick shift, clutch, and starter on the floor! Over 50 years old and the body has not rusted through....... Started as a DouTone but I liked it better like this to emphasize the rust. Enjoy! Arthur Lee, a Continental Congressman, is buried near the Old Landsdowne place in Urbanna, Virginia.  While visiting the site I took this image of the cemetery gate as it has been bent and stressed over a hundred years of pressure from the mighty roots of trees that have grown over the plot.  I was attempting to capture the juxtaposed struggle of life bending the iron fence.  I converted to Mono then DuoToned using as the second color Pantone Metallic Coated 8962C.  Enjoy enlarged and thank you for looking.  Natures fireworks..... long exposures.  Braving the elements to dine.... Thank you for looking. An image I took last April and forgot about it until recently while looking for an image to try my hand at IR post-processing. An abandoned house that literally has been grown over by trees; hence, TreeHouse! Just outside of Urbanna, Virginia. Thank you for looking. Tomorrow is Veteran's Day here in the United States.  This photo is a tribute to the veterans in remembrance of their sacrifices for our nation.  Thank you for all you've done..... forever. A group of dedicated volunteer Firemen work very hard to bring a fireworks show to our area.   A rural celebration of the birth of the United States of America. These old pilings once supported a pier where the Ferry System would transport vehicular traffic across the Rappahannock River. That was 50 years ago, yet the pilings are stark reminders of the past. Please view expanded and thank you for looking. A beach on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, in Mathews County. Members of the photo-group with which I'm affiliated met to shoot the dawn and golden hour... I walked back into the reeds with the bugs, snakes, frogs, and mosquitoes to catch the dawn from this perspective. I hope you like it........ At Yorktown, looking North along the Coleman bridge to Gloucester Point. On the University of Virginia Campus. An IR blend taken with a Hoya IR filter during the Scott Kelby World Wide Walk. Enjoy expanded. One of the last wild areas of Middlesex County Virginia is without surprise one of the most inaccessible. The Dragon Run, home of the largest stand of Bald Cypress in this area of the state, and is my favorite of trees. A circular polarizer was used to take the image. Please enjoy expanded. Charles PS:I fell in about an hour later.. fortunately I had my dry-bag...Tee Hee! My Neighbors boat is named, "The First Lady", rather brave of him to call her that, him being a married man.  Up early to take this shot from my pier towards the yawning winter sky of Lagrange Creek in Remlik Virginia.  Documentary only because a developer promises to construct condominiums which will destroy this view. I had an opportunity recently to visit the Duke University Chapel, located on campus in Durham, North Carolina. Not a cathedral by any means, but much more than just a Chapel. A beautiful gift to the University where a few of this great family of philanthropists rest now for eternity. Thank you for looking. I hope you enjoy it. Our local group of photo enthusiasts, named the Gloucester Image Guild, ventured to Washington DC for a Shootout recently.  I took this shot through the glass elevator which rises from the underground parking facility.  Post processed in CS3 it made for an interesting image.  Please few expanded: and thank you for looking. I captured an image during an early morning shoot of LaGrange Creek but the sky was sorely lacking. A couple of articles on SpaceScapes, a few hours of CS4, and I'd created my own Nebula and Starfield. Not an excuse for serious work in astrophotography, you'll have to visit Christian Drouin's work (which is an inspiration) if you want to see quality work in that genre.
