View over the rooftops in Whitby, blurred out the fg slightly using a wide aperture and focusing toards the back of the scene to try and draw the eye through the rooftops. How many chimney pots? I have been chasing insects around all spring and find their minature world stunningly beautiful and endlessly fascinating! This is a Large Red Damselfly. Blackbird enjoying Haw berries! Kirkstal Abbey Ruins. Best viewed expanded for detalis. Cheers! Evolutionary perfection, unchanged design for nearly 300 million years! A Male broad bodied chaser. Wreck of the SARB-J trawler, sunk in 1994. Now lies under the cliffs about a mile north of Robin Hoods Bay. Quite easy to get to just park in Robin Hoods Bay (20 minutes south of whitby) free parking in their pay and display until march!! Walk down the steep hill to the shore line and turn left to head north along the cliff for just about a mile and you will suddenly round a corner and see the wreck. Give yourself an hour there and same back and check the tide very carefully as you will be cut off! I recomend setting off an hour or two before low tide, this will give you plenty of time. The ponds at my local nature reserve were a writhing mass of amorous activity last week, when I noticed this wise old looking Toad on the bank gazing out contemplatively over the proceedings. Either taking a breather from the general melee below, or smiling inwardly at the young 'uns going nuts or maybe contemplating the meaning of life it didn't seem too bothered about a quick picture.
