Bio: I'm never very good at this part. I just take photos for my enjoyment. I'm constantly learning. Winning POTY gave me a courage to actually join the site to be open to comments instead of just storing images on my pc.

I just noticed on the main page that they've said put a hat on everything. Well I've already done this as this image proves. I spent a few hours crawling around on the floor to get these two where I wanted them and get there attention. This was taken when there was a moon lit tour of the mill. A spectacular sunset that I saw just as I was on my way out and had to rush to get the right view point. I wanted to show how women use make up to hide behind. It was -3 when I took this image but I'd got the photo I wanted so was happy even though very, very cold. This was a simple idea I had but took ages to shoot. The sheet kept moving no matter what I used to keep it in place. And as I was in a south facing room on a patchy, overcast day the lighting kept changing. Most people just see a flower from above so I decided to use a different angle. I placed the sun directly behind the poppy and used the pop up flash to light the underneath I wanted to capture as much colour as I could without it clashing too much. I wanted to create a different view of Whitby. I used the pier as a lead in to Whitby and the lighthouse. I placed the life buoy to give interest to the left side of the photo. To create a clean and simple portrait which I was after. I used a portaflash to the front to light myself and a flashgun directly behind my head to give a rim light through my hair. As I always find ti easier to experiment on myself than wasting a models time trying new ideas when I don't acctually know what I'm doing. I spoted this while on a walked one cold morning. Taken on location with a flash gun and reflector to the camera's right to balance to sun coming from the left. The owner of the studio I use had a new puppy. And here she is. It was a fun shoot. I used a black backdrop so that the white of the polos would stand out. I arranged them into a appealing display. I used a softbox to the right and a piece od white card as a reflector to the left. As a few people have asked this hasn't been edited apart from black & white conversion and contrast. Years ago polos used to make big plastic containers, I found some on a flea market and used them with normal and mini polos. Taken using 2 soft boxes. One either side of the model. Charmaine had the outfit that gave me the idea to recreate a circus theme photo. So I planned a outfit for Rebecca to be a lion. I wated to create a image to show what I think autism sufferers can feel. The hands are to show frustration, the tears confusion and the jigsaw loneliness. I wanted to creat a image that coud of been made up from loads of images but it actually one image photoshopped This was my first time photographing in London. I wanted to capture the mood of the place. I wanted to recreate what my county's so famous for but in a new way. We were all up and met up at 5am for this shoot. So my the time we finished at 11am we were shattered. There were 2 off camera flashes either side.
