Another HDR image, but this time using 7 shots. The sun was just going down & the lights came on casting this wonderful warm light over everything. Looks nice & warm, but it was just above freezing:) This is a new version of a picture I have already posted, but processed differently this time; 1 shot at the correct exposure in RAW, duplicated twice and the exposure adjusted for each - one under & one over using Aperture. All 3 shots combined & tonemapped using Photomatix Pro. Here's the colour version.... This was taken using a polarising filter & 2 neutral gradient filters (one hard-edged & one soft) to equalise the contrast between the sky & beach. The same shot of the sea wall in Harwich but this time at high tide & in mono. I thought I had already posted this image. This is the 7-shot HDR that I took before the 9-shotter I posted recently of the same location in Harwich, UK. Shot not long after sunrise, leaving long shadows and a warm glow (although it was pretty cold as it was December) This is a 9-shot HDRi of Southwold Pier in Suffolk, processed using Photomatix Pro. I hope you enjoy it. With the clouds moving so quick this morning & the sunrise lighting the clouds I knew this was an opportunity not to be missed. Using 2 dark grey gradients, an ND8 & a polariser to force a 30 second exposure so I could capture the 'drag' of the clouds. This image is using 9 shots this time & I have tried to improve over my last HDR shot of this pier by using the mirror lock-up on the camera & weighing down my tripod to try & achieve better sharpness. Also, aside from Photomatix pro to do the HDR & tonemapping, I have used a nice bit of software called PTlens, which corrects the horrible aberration & barrel distortion I get with my current lens. I am hoping to upgrade from this poor kit lens to a Tamron AF 17-50mm F2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF). Does anyone have any experience of this lens? I would love to hear your comments, critical or not. Processed the same as 'Southwold Pier Remixed', but channel-mixed to Mono. Another shot of the Lower Lighthouse in Harwich, Essex.
