Awesome! Just goes to show that you don't need HDR to get stunning images like this. In answer to your question about the software I use - I use RAW and then a bit of CS4. It's mainly using the Levels option on the Adjustment tab. Then I'll apply some dodge and burn to highlight the main source of light and accentuate the shadows. It doesn't usually take more than 5 minutes, my usual rule is that if it takes longer than that to get something I want then I say it's overdone and then the effects takes away the impact of the composition. If the comp isn't there then I just won't bother with the image at all - the effect shouldn't be of greater importance to the composition. But I'm not saying my comps are that good either just yet! :-)
