The Bluff by Paul Bratescu
I don't know about snakes in planes, but I can tell you that there are plenty in Costa Rica. This fantastic looking snake is called a Parrot Snake (Leptophis ahaetulla). It can be found throughout southern Mexico, Central America, and Argentina. Althought this snake looks dangergerous it is a rear fanged snake and is mildly venomous. It is common for this snake to rear up in a poised strike, when really it's bluffing. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do.
Paul :)

Another superb image Paul. I don't think there's a remote system strong enough to put me in position to take a shot like this. Don -

Hello Paul This image completely blew me away. I love the way you used a short depth of field to really bring out the expression of the snake whilst keeping the whole head in focus. It is composed brilliantly - the shape of snakes don't always lend themselves well to photography, but this is incredible. very well done! -
Simon Mackie
Wow this shot really grabs your attention, great colours and pin sharp focus on the eyes. -
Brett Voorhees
I don't know if I am more afraid or fascinated by snakes, equally in this photo. Nice capture.
