WOW, what a beautiful place to be, just the picture takes my breath away let alone being there to capture the shot. thomas -

Whoa what a great winner of POTW i like the simple composition and the colours are fantastic which leads to a great image -
Jen McGowan
This looks like a still captured from a movie. This is quite beautiful and makes me want to live on a boat in the ocean. -

Alex: Great work. OK, you've chosen to call it "digital art" and what's wrong with that? Actually its all digital art in some form or another. I mean aren't we suppose to share how we created our images? Let's all keep up the good work and support for our work and the site:let the Phantom be. I've not seen a gallery yet that every posting deserved a 5! But this shot certainly does. I frequent your gallery often-Charles -

Congrats on POTW!!! Its a great piece of manipulation and you have a great portfolio my choice would of been the owl that in my opinion is your best. Great image though can see both sides of argument but then i doctor alot of my pictures to make up for my cameras drawbacks. -
Polly Chapman
A beautiful image. It is surely the end result that counts. Even with Photoshop the final image will not necessarily be satisfactory unless the original shot was captured in an interesting way. -

totally agree with Vulkan. Images used to be created in the darkroom in just the same way as photoshop allows us now to do it digitally. this doesnt detract from the skill that is still needed to take the image in the first place, more over it adds a new dimension to the skill of photography and a renewed enthusiasm for imagery hence all the magnificent images that are created and posted here for us all to appreciate and aspire to. congrats on potw by the way 5* rgds mike -

There was no need to rate the image down on that basis. The decision was the editorial teams not mine, further ive never made any secret of the fact that it has had photohop treatment. In my defense I still had to catch that perfect sunset F5.6 at 1/1600sec ;) By they way the team are free to pull it if they like. P.s its 2008 The darkroom is now digital most techniques in ps are not new...If you want to leave the delveloping to your cameras micro processor all the best -

Wow what a pleasant surprise after logging in...Thanks very much Debbi,as well as everyone else for the kind words and encouragement on this site. I have mixed emotions about this shot being chosen, because although I like it very much, its Heavily Photoshoped makes me feel a bit of a fraud. on the other hand so chuffed though:) thanks -
John Pattison
Alex, this is a simply awesome image. As many before me have said possibly your best work to date, John 5 plus and counting. -
Christian Drouin
Alex, you got hit bad too, even worst than me. Anyway, if you want to know about my latest talks with DP mag about this, send me an E-mail at nexstar@rogers.com, perhaps you can add your voice to it...it has to stop now. Regards, Chris. This one still 5 to me, but I can only rate once. Cheers -
John Baird
This is one of the best shots that I have ever seen The AS- - - LE the other night that was responsible for the downgrading ( It also happened to my Gallery) 5* ++ -
Jo-Ann Stokes
I think this is awesome. Your gallery is still one of my favourites no matter what the phantom tries! Cheers Jo -

Alex, sorry for yesterday. Probably because my brain got affected by that cold, I've been calling you by your last name in all my latest comments. Sorry again. Cheers mate. Chris -
Katja Zuske
Spectacular picture, Alex. The water has an almost oily feel to it and the colors and clouds are very vivid. 5!
