The bombs bursting in air over the York River, at Yorktown, VA. The monument was commissioned by the Continental Congress in 1781 and constructed between 1881 and 1884. Taken last evening on the Fourth! Enjoy expanded.

Technically a very accomplished shot, Charles, very well composed (which is difficult enough in the dark) and then to get the perfect exposure too! Great stuff. When I tried this my firework shots were a miserable failure, - guess I'll have to keep practicing!

Donny Paul Katz and Kev. Many thanks for having a look. Katz this one was funded by the National Park Service and it packed a wallop. Several local fireworks displays were less than stellar due to the economy. One reason I made the trip to Yorktown.
