My second trip to California, the first one was an eye opener. I was fortunate enough to visit ithttp://www.dphotographer.co.uk/forum/ ... 8cd2826182 again.

My journey to the west coast of the United States of America lead me to places that are significant and iconic especially for an aspiring landscape photographer trying to break the international market.

All the photos that I have seen in the books of American and UK photographers like Joe Cornish, David Noton, Galen Rowell, Tim Fritzharris, Lee Frost, etc. have come to life. I was at awe by the beauty of the western coast landscapes.

This is my journey, my photographic saga, to a place I will surely miss when I go home.

Edwin, I love the lines in this photo. And the mono just makes it even better. Guess I'll have to add yet another location to my "wish to go there"-list.

Last month I went to Taiwan on a photo safari with friends and a a few graduate students of my Landscape workshop class. Taiwan can offer so much in terms of travel and coastal landscape photography. Here are some of them;

One of the most dominating features are candle like rocks in Yehliu region standing around 4-5ft tall.

How do I shoot a scene that has been captured by hundreds of photographers? An iconic landmark in San Francisco, Golden Gate has been captured in all sorts of angle, weather conditions and techniques. This is my own version...

I wanted a dynamic face of the scene and tried capturing the rushing waves as my foreground element.

enjoy!

I have been always fascinated with the playgrounds of Ansel Adams and most of the F64 club namely elliot porter and the likes. So when I had the chance to visit the place it was a dream come true.

Here are some of my takes of Yosemite National Park, unfortunately it was the near end of winter which didnt demoralized me as I love the mist of melting snow on early sunrise.

And the sunsets were just as spectacular...

Some recent shots around the Philippines...

Catanduanes, an island battered by storms as it sit at the most eastern part of the Philippines, first to get the morning light and first to feel the might of the Pacific.

Absolute cracking photos, truely great stuff well done :D Would love to know what process you use to retain or add the colour in the Infra-red images or is this down to the exposure time and filter type?

A shot taken in the far north of the Philippines, the grotto was made to protect the fisherman in the place, too many have drowned and died in this shore of crashing waves.

Last September, I made sure during my visit in Norther California that I would be able visit San Francisco again. In 2010 I was there and was able to shoot it at Baker beach. In 2011 however, I wanted to shoot at a proximate place and learned about Marshall Beach. I was really excited to shoot this place again, to my dissapointment the trail leading there was closed due to renovations. Being only there for a few days I braved an alternate trail.

These are my shots of the place.

As the sun neared the horizon, the sea stacks surrounding the place were quite interesting. The place has lot of potential and with its proximity to the city, a good venue for exercising composition for budding landscape photographers.

I stayed till 8pm in this area pushing myself nearer the bridge. The tides were coming in fast. It was really a pleasure shooting such an iconic place. I hope I was able to capture it with fresh eyes and perspective.
