Another from Germany, this time one of my early morning shots in the centre of Nuremberg. This is the castle, about 45 minutes after sunrise

These are great Paul  . The first one is very impressive, and the glowing church in the back really makes it for me. Very well done.

I'd been there before and took this photo but with my 5D mkII and an ISO of 2500 wanted to retake. Conditions were different as river was less still (shooting speed on this was 1/13 I believe and handheld as I didn't take my tripod to germany with me on that occasion) and also on the previous occasion (early october 2009) the moon was up in the evening.

Germany has some stunning cities and we had this view of dresden as we approached the area our hotel was in:

The last shot is my favourite of yours so far Paul. Great reflections and a nice all round glow from the lights.

We just stoppedin time for this shot. Within 10 minutes the last light was gone. We frantically looked for a place to park the car and then ran to the bridge. Some images on the trip are being used in the programme for my German tour and this one was the easiest to pick

This week in Hamburg I bought the FA 400 f/5.6 and the FA 120 f/4 Macro. Still waiting to really try the 400mm lens out, but really happy with the Macro.

A couple of test shots with the new lens

An ubiqiotous sea bird:

Then something far more pretty around the corner, a Aston Martin DBS

You know it's not fair for you to come and flaunt all your new toys

That seagull shot does look very sharp though, i'll have to go and investigate at a larger size.

Detail in the seagul shot is amazing - look at those feathers!
Nice car shot - I like the reflections of the buildings in the paintwork - it's just a tad too contrasty for me, I'd
like to see more details in the shadows. :D

Hi Rosie,

Thanks for the comments, I have adjusted the car shot with a little fill light to bring out a little detail in the bottom of the car

That is a fine lens, I can't wait to see the quality of the 400.

Your wish is my command:

This is the Madonna Statue in Marienplatz in Munich. I kept having to go back and back to get the full statue in. I had to increase my ISO to 400 as with a slower shutter speed the tripod (a Gitzo GT2530 was moving even though I had my rucsac hanging of it so needed a faster shutter speed.

To demonstrate the sharpness here is a 100% crop at the madonna's feet: To demonstrate the amount of detail, the 1024 x 722 image is 386kb, the crop is 822 x 1088 and is 1.4mb! The whole file (.tif) is 194mb
