Sony A290 14mp DSLR camera or Olympus E-450 10mp DSLR

Hey,

Looking into buying one of Sony A290 14mp DSLR camera or Olympus E-450 10mp DSLR. Which one i should go for and reasons why would be appreciated.

Comparing the two cameras, the Sony has a larger APS-C sensor compared to Olympus's 4/3rds.

But not having used either camera before, I cannot say anything other than my statement above. Now looking at the prices of those two cameras + their standard kit lens, Nikon also has the D3100 which is in a similar price range or a Canon 1100D which is just a tad bit more expensive. Is there any particular reason why you would want a Sony or Olympus DSLR when Nikon/Canon has something close to the same price range?

The Canon will more than likely serve you better as a beginner. Much more advice and second hand kit available.

Dont just read on them, go into a store and handle them, see which one fits you, see which one has controls that make the most sense to you....consider the lens line up..consider what type of photography you want to do....everyone has their opinions on the best camera(s)...but YOU will be the one using whatever it is you wind up with.

Why you don't try to start looking them online because you can now buy good brands of camera in some online store like eBay.
