blacklisted_site code for Expansys UK

Hi all,

I'm currently shopping around for a new DSLR and obviously looking for the best prices (torn between the Nikon D7000 or D300s!!). I came across a tip for a 5% blacklisted_site at expansys in the UK. If you enter CAMERA11 at checkout this deducts 5% from your total price, which for me means around £50 off. Quite a nice saving. Plus it's genuine and valid today as I've already tried it.

Hope this saves you some cash :)

Hello,

I am in exactly the same situation - D7000 vs D300s. I am interested to find which body you opted for as I am also looking at both the D300s or D7000. Have you gone ahead and made a purchase and if, so which did you go for and where did you end up buying it from.

Re Expansys - I have read a few worryingly negative reviews on Expansys - have you experienced any negative issues? Hope you are pleased with your purchase (if you have of course made one!)

Hi BB,

After a lot of deliberation I have ordered the D7000. The review by Ken Rockwell was the clincher for me, saying it's Nikons best DSLR ever! Quite a bold statement from a guy whom I consider not the best photographer in the world, but certainly a fountain of knowledge when it comes to photography hardware.

I actually ordered from Expansys and paid a few pennies under £1150 for the 18-105 kit lens. I'm not too fussed about the lens but it proved too difficult finding a body only in stock (Jessops are asking £1094 for body only so for the 50 odd quid extra I'll have a lens that will sell on ebay for £150-£180). I've used Expansys before, but that was around 8 years ago and I collected from site in Manchester, I had no issues with them back then. I agree though that there's lots of negative comments on various review sites, although the majority do seem to be dated some years ago. Anyway, it's enough to make me feel anxious as I await delivery. I ordered the camera at 3:30pm yesterday and after checking the online order tracking system, it was showing 'held due to part stock availability', the item on back order was the free mini tripod they are giving away (along with a free camera case as part of the 5% Camera11 blacklisted_site). I rang them and they offered to cancel the tripod and dispatch the rest immediately, an offer that I accepted. So by 5:50pm the order was showing as 'shipped'.

Unfortunately they didn't send any courier tracking info, so I'll hopefully receive the item today, but Monday will be acceptable due to the late ordering by myself. Should it arrive today in good working order, I'll rate them highly, and probably the same if Monday is the delivery day. Otherwise, let battle commence lol.

I'll keep you updated on the progress and indeed my first impressions of the D7000.

Thanks
Jay

Thanks Rosie. I've recently read this months DP review on the D7000 and along with many others, it really does seem fantastic. Just hope it arrives soon! :)

D7000 arrived this morning, so very fast service from Expansys, came with full Nikon UK warranty card (as expected but quashed any worry about being a grey import). So all in all I have to give Expansys 10/10, very competitive price, UK stock and fast delivery!

First impressions of the D7000........Wow!!! Oh and Wow wow!! Amazing camera. Pointless me going into depth with a review, as I've only used it for an hour, but first impressions are fantastic, so happy I chose this camera.

If you're considering buying one, and like me was unsure whether to go for a D300s or D7000, go for the D7000, you won't be disappointed.

It is a fantastic camera. I just got one, and I could not be more excited to go out and use it in Las Vegas this weekend.
