bla bla bla is what i hear from canon,

its the same sensor as the 550d and the 7d which is not a bad thing but not much innovation apart from its articulating screen, which i have had on my camera since the canon s2is.

if your on a budget get the 550d
if you are not on a budget and you want an amazing camera then it seems like the 7d is the one to go for.

is that just my thoughts?

I also felt that the 60D was a step back, especially in build quality.

I have the 7D.

7D and 5D MKII are the best models made from Canon now a days. If I had the money to buy a DSRL canon camera those would be the only models. For everything else there is NIKON.
