The Weekend Project - Friday 10th August 2012

Hello everyone.

The challenge this week is to take a portrait with very shallow depth of field, either by using a wide aperture lens or by using a long focal length and tilting the lens to further reduce depth of field. Try to avoid replicating the effect in Photoshop.

Here's my entry for this weekends project. It was taken with a Canon 60D using a 50mm f1.8 lens @ f1.8 - 1/350 - ISO 400. It is of a local model Chloe and was taken in the cemetery in Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, UK:

One of my cats, photographed with my 5D Mark II and 85mm f1.2. Subject distance just over a metre away, giving a DoF of one centimetre!
