Entering DPOTY via DP Magazine web site.

Hi there…I am really getting confused with the contest and to be honest rather angry. Months ago I started to enter images to the DPOTY categories. Recently I re found the contest via the Digital photographer magazine site. When you add a picture to the DP magazines gallery site you are requested to enter the self same image to the DPOTY competition with a series of categories listed…but the implication is that all are still open and there is no restriction on numbers per category etc it simply request exif data per image…so naturally when i load up my images on the DP Mag site I add them, with the exif data,to my entries to DPOTY.
Now when I check back to the DPOTY site and I find I am now in breach of the rules….Can someone please clarify why this discrepancy exists and how I can correct my application so's I have the correct number of images in the correct categories.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so angry!
This is the first year that we've enabled Digital Photographer readers to enter their photographs via their own gallery - mainly for ease of use for you guys - so do bear with us if there are teething problems. We will make sure they are ironed out for next year's comp. And you make a valid point that the deadlines should be programmed into the entry process.

Obviously this is not the only way you can enter, so if you did want to email your three images per category to awards@dphotographer.co.uk, then that's fine too. Category dates are in every issue of the magazine and also on the website.

If you want to email me direct and let me know which three images you want counted for each category then I can sort this out for you no problemo. rosie.tanner@imagine-publishing.co.uk
