cutting out hair

Hi All

Can anyone suggest a foolproof way of cutting round hair to make it look something like normal afterwards without spending vast amounts of money on new CS programmes. If it's any use, I've got CS3.

Have you tried using the channels method? Have a look here http://www.webdesign.org/photoshop/phot ... 17807.html it all depends on your background really... :D

as rosie says its the background that makes hiar cutouts easier to do especially contrasting plain backgrounds like black or white (depending on the hair colour) or chroma key backdrops like green and blue make it much easier there are plugins from companies like topaz that are supposed to make it easier but i have always found that a tricky background can defeat even these third party addons and you resort to doig it manualy and using the brush tool to put hair back.
