jpegs and browsers

Postby kris on Thu Sep 11, 2008 6:24 pm

Dear All,

I recently edited a couple of photos for submission to the website. When I looked at them online, however, the oranges and reds in my original photo had turned a muddy brown. I tried looking at the same photo directly (i.e. not from the web) through photoshop, the windows picture and fax viewer, through Firefox and IE. The same file viewed via Photoshop and the viewer retains it colours whereas through IE and Firefox it turns a muddy brown.

Is this a common occurrence with internet browsers? What are the implications for a site like DPs?

Thanks, Kris.

It's a known problem and rather than go into one of my usual elongated posts .. have a read through http://www.gballard.net/psd/go_live_pag ... files.html as it explains it better than I could
