Diamond Jubilee

Postby digitalfingers on Sat May 19, 2012 12:31 pm

As I'm sure you are all aware (UK anyway) the Queen is touring the country during her Diamond Jubilee year. Last week she came to Bromley, not too far from where I live. I was at the location from 7am although HRH wasn't due until 10:30am. I had to source information and find the best spot to set up my gear. I'd heard which way the royal car would be approaching the area and then the expected route the Queen was to walk. So Just outside 'The Glades' shopping centre seemed to be the best spot for me. I had tried sneaking into the press area until some busybody came along looking for my press pass, when I couldn't produce one I was moved on quite swiftly... you can't blame me for trying!

It turns out that the spot I'd found was better than the press location which meant for some decent shots. Hope you like.

Love that you tried to get into the press area Dave

You have some great shots here though, that probably wouldn't look out of place in a newspaper. You should send them to your local and see if they want to print them, could be a bit late now though.

Thanks Troy. Already contacted the local Rag, they have agreed to put the shots on their website. I'm hoping Getty will take them also as I'm a Getty contributor.

The last one is my favourite. Really captured the moment.

Sounds good. Can't help but think the last shot needs a bit of a lift though, looks a tad dark to me.

Correct, the other shots were 'lifted' slightly in Photoshop, the last shot is untouched.
